The Bandits Variety Band

The Bandits are a rockin' Event Cover Band that specializes in upscale events such as weddings, conventions and corporate events.  The band is extremely versatile and plays a wide variety of styles - Rock, country, Jazz, Funk, Swing, Disco, Reggae and pop.  The band combines some of the most talented event musicians in Utah with stellar vocals.

Weddings and corporate events:

Believe it or not, these guys (and girl) can dress pretty sharp and will keep your guests dancing all night long.  Want some background music for cocktail or dinner hour?  We have that covered too.  This band is extremely versatile and can go from soft jazz music or ballads to playing the kind of music that keeps people dancing.

Concerts and City Celebrations:

This band works great for outdoor concerts and has played many city celebrations all throught Utah and the surrounding states.  They play the kind of music that people want to stick around and listen to.  Utah Live Bands uses the Bandits as one if it's "featured entertainment" because of their musicianship, reliability, and versatility.

Band Members

Jen Tarasevich - Vocals

Jen is one of the first call vocalist in Utah for events and live performances.  In addition, Jen produces large scale corporate shows that include dancing, music, and other forms of entertainment.  Her impressive career in music and entertainment shows in her stage presence and her ability to get the crowed dancing and having a good time.

 Michael Tobian - Bass, backup vocals, band leader

In addition to his busy performance schedule, Michael Tobian is on the music faculty at Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University where he directs and coaches bands, teaches music classes and has authored the textbook "Fundamentals of Jazz Improvisation".  Mike is also one of the busiest live musicians in the local music scene.

 Jay Lawrence - Drums

One would be hard pressed to find a career in music as impressive as Jay's.  Jay has been the drummer for hundreds of celebrities over the years, having played with everyone from Liberace to Donny Osmond to Sammy Davis Jr to Gladys Knight and many others.  You have heard his drumming on countless movie sound tracks, commercials and celebrity albums.  Jay also keeps a busy schedule teaching drums and percussion at 5 collages.

 Mike Fjerstad - Guitar, vocals

Mike's impressive guitar playing and spot on vocals makes him one of the busiest players around.  When Mike isn't on tour with some rock or country band, he is playing with the Bandits and tearing down the house.  In addition to performing, Mike has a successful private guitar lesson studio.

Anthony Phan, Keys

Anthony is not only a phenomenal keyboard and organ player but also a tremendous composer, film scorer and jazz trumpet player.  Anthony will grow his beard extra long for your event at no extra charge.
